Hi ..

What a great update/replacement to MS's Backup. Thank you.

My issue is the following errors I get. Note I have two Profiles but only the main one shows in the Settings.

Starting backup...please wait...
copy C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst to F:\BACKUP for MS Outlook JHH Personal folders
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
File is locked: C:\Users\JHH\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
Can't copy file on it's own, skipping: F:\BACKUP for MS Outlook JHH Personal folders\Archive.pst

I may be missing something, but I did check Processes after Exiting the other Office 2013 programs I had running. Still same error messages as above.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Let me know.

Thanks.

Hello,
another process is locking your pst-file.
I have heard about situations, where skype was using the pst-file of outlook (for searching contacts, ...)
If you cant see any obvious program locking your pst, please check with process explorer, which program is guilty:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

Start as admin, click "Handle" in the menu and enter "outlook.pst".
This will show all processes which accesses the file.

Kind regards,
Thomas

Thomas,

Thank you for the prompt response and suggestion.

Yes, right on target diagnosis. For-the-record:

The conflict was by a constantly running Process add-in, called ‘coordinator.exe

from a live contact/company database firm call ‘ZoomInfo.’ ZoomInfo is

a database that I use for my B2B sales development purposes with it’s

coordinator.exe Outlook add-in constantly running as part of my agreement with them.

Thomas, thank you again for the info. I know now how to deal with the conflict.

All the best.

Respectfully,

John
