Nice to have feature: Select *.pst files by default

Dec 21, 2015 at 7:12 PM
Would be great if in the group policy settings, the files to backup could accept something like this:
*.pst

That way, you can select by default all the pst files. I've been playing with the code, and seems that the code doesn't support this feature.
I've also played with the store-type blacklist settings, but I couldn't find a way to show only .pst files, although, there is a way to show only the *.ost files (when I select 3 as store type)

Hope I can help with any of this.

Regards and thanks again for such a great tool .

Hello,

you can activate "backup all files".
This way, only pst-Files are taken into account. ost-Files are per default not shown as they are usually only cache files.
So the default is already "show only pst files"

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Thomas

Hi!
The format depends on the protocol you are using.
POP-Accounts are stored as PST Files.
IMAP-Accounts, ActiveSync and similar protokols are using ost-files.
Ost-Files are only cache files as all the emails are organized and stored on the server side.

Kind regards,
Thomas
