Aug 9, 2016 at 10:25 AM
We want to update/install .msi using SCCM

Few computers are with 1.0.0.0 , 1.5.0.0, and 1.6.0.0. Few dont have it at all.

Below the code installs on 1.6.0.0 on systems that dont have it all.
msiexec /i OutlookBackupAddIn.msi /quiet /qn /norestart

What would be the syntax to How to take care of silent update thru SCCM ?

Hello,
I havent worked with SCCM yet but it looks like a reinstall option is a possibility.
Maybe this thread helps: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/db84afcf-c00c-4ad6-bb58-65027c41bea5/any-officalrecommended-method-for-minor-upgrades-msi-vomus-sccm-2012-and-applications-?forum=configmanagerapps

If you need some modifications of the msi, just let me know.

Kind regards,
Thomas

Hello,

for help regarding msi parameters use the following command:
msiexec.exe /?

Quiet installation can be done via:
msiexec.exe /i Outlookbackupaddin.msi /qb

Uninstall via:
msiexec.exe /x Outlookbackupaddin.msi /qb

There are also options for update /update and repair /f

Please note that the configuration in version 1.0 is done via config file. 1.5 onwards can be configured via gpo.
Documentation is provided in the readme file. Config cant be migrated from 1.0 to 1.5 or later.

Kind regards,
Thomas
